Monitoring visit “Freedom of speech in the ATO area” to Donetsk region

On September 15-19 the USAID ”Human Rights in Action” Activity has conducted monitoring visit “Freedom of speech in the ATO area” to Donetsk region (the city of Kramatorsk, Mariupol and Konstantynivka). The main objectives of the visit were as follows: to monitor the media and to establish preliminary contact with potential clients; to interview journalists and editors of local editions; to find other witnesses of events; to establish contact with former employees who left as IDPs; to interview the families of the dead, missing persons.

The report on results of the visit 

The American people, through the USAID, have provided economic and humanitarian assistance worldwide for 50 years. In Ukraine, USAID’s assistance focuses on three areas: Health and Social Transition, Economic Growth and Democracy and Governance. USAID has provided 1.8 bln technical and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since 1992.
