“The Days of the Crimea” in PACE. “Crimean Evening”

Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Humanitarian studio “Khvylya”, International Foundation “Renaissance”, Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Crimean tatar resource center, Crimean Human Rights Group, Edition In-Art have the honor to inform about international event “The Days of the Crimea”, which will take place in the premises of PACE on June 28, 2017. It is planned that about 400 people will participate in this event. Among them are expected members of national delegations to PACE, leadership, Council of Europe top leadership, Council of Europe Secretariat heads of the departments and PACE, ECHR judges and ECHR secretariat staff, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Council of Europe, representatives of international governmental and non-governmental organizations, Ukrainian human rights activists, lawyers, leading cases of human rights violations in the Crimea, representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.

“Crimean evening” – is impressive cultural and artistic event with the participation of famous artists, which includes: ethnological exhibition and a photo exhibition decorative art “Chumak Way”, a concert and an opportunity to taste the best delicatessens of the best Crimean Tatar chefs.

“Chumatskiy Shlyakh” (Milky Way) is a unique inter-museum project initiated by the publication of edition In-Art, became the result of cooperation between the biggest museums in Ukraine – National Reserve “Sophia Kyivan”, National Center of Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum”, the National Museum of Ukrainian Decorative Folk Art, Museum of Ukrainian diaspora, National art museum of Ukraine and private museums of Olexandr Feldman and Oleksiy Sheremetiev. The authors of the idea are Heorhii Brailovskyi and Rustem Skybin. The theme of unity and interpenetration of Crimean and Ukrainian people’s cultures and art are researched in frames of the project for the first time. The project destroys the concept of Tsarist and Soviet imperial historiography that created the myth of military and political confrontation as well as antagonism of cultures of our people. Exhibitions cover the historical period from Tripoli culture till present time, being reflected in the works of famous contemporary Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar artists.

Concert “Ornament of The East”, which will feature musical works of different nations: Tatar, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Ukrainian, Jewish, Roma and others. Famous musicians will take part in the program: singer and pianist Marinita, accordionist Shevket Zmorka and percussionist Orhan Agabeyli. Their creativity is based on a combination of cultures of different nations with jazz and classical music.

Musicians who will represent Ukraine at the “Crimean evening” are members of the project “Art of Tolerance” – campaign against xenophobia, which aims to demonstrate multiculturalism and educate tolerance.
