On October 26, 2018, experts came together at the Ukrainian National Bar Association to improve the quality of legal aid, signing a Memorandum on strengthening the expert capacity in the field of access to justice in criminal proceedings for vulnerable population groups.

The Memorandum was signed by the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, Ukrainian National Bar Association, Coordination Center for Legal Aid Provision, Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation and Kharkiv Human Rights Foundation.

For more efficient cooperation, a Commission for Expert Legal Analysis was established that will develop mechanisms for ensuring high quality of free legal aid in criminal proceedings.
