State Educational Institution “Research Center for the Quality of Education” assists the Accreditation Commission of Ukraine, providing it with organizational services. The ACU is a permanent collegial body of the Ministry of Education and Science that ensures adherence to the requirements of certification and accreditation of higher, vocational and postgraduate educational institutions.
The Memorandum’s main goal is cooperation in the creation of an effective and functional education system based on the respect for human rights. Working together, we plan to ensure implementation of the reform of education, Action Plan for the National Human Rights Strategy, and National Education Program in the Field of Human Rights.
In particular, we will be developing mechanisms for coordinating activities aimed at changing the field of education and ensuring the observance of human rights in the education system. As part of our cooperation, we will promote public initiatives on establishing a constructive dialogue between civil society and the government. The support of the Memorandum’s objectives and activities will be provided within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Educational Program “Understanding Human Rights”.
“This meeting opens a new open window of opportunity for us. By assessing the quality of textbooks, we will be able to gauge the general compliance with the principles of non-discrimination and respect for human rights in textbooks on various subjects,” said Oleksandr Pavlichenko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union.
“We mean to combine efforts with the public in implementing a new technology for the examination of textbooks, which will bring new textbooks that meet modern standards and scientific knowledge to educational institutions,” said Ihor Likarchuk, director of the State Educational Institution “Research Center for the Quality of Education”.
