The signing took place on April 10, 2018

The memorandum affirms the cooperation between the Union and the Ministries in building an effective and functional human rights education system. The Memorandum was signed by UHHRU Executive Director Oleksandr Pavlichenko, Deputy Minister of Justice Serhiy Petukhov and Deputy Minister of Education and Science Pavlo Khobzey.

We agreed to combine our efforts to ensure an effective reform of the system of human rights education as part of the implementation of the Action Plan for the National Human Rights Strategy 2020 as well as the Action Plan for the All-Ukrainian Human Rights Education Program.

Together, we will be implementing the Strategy for informing citizens about the rights granted them by the Constitution and legislation of Ukraine; we will be working on making systemic changes in the field of human rights and their observance; and we will be promoting civic initiatives aimed at establishing a constructive dialogue between civil society and the government. We will also be jointly supporting the legal education project I Have the Right! as well as promoting human rights monitoring in Ukraine’s system of education.
