UHHRU participated in the REActPro seminar, where a new online system was presented for monitoring and evaluation of the human rights in the framework of programs of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

On April 2-4 2019, in Kyiv, UHHRU lawyers participated in REActPro training seminar, which was organized by NGO Frontline AIDS in the framework of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

At the seminar we learned about new online monitoring and reporting system “Wanda».

Wanda Program is online system of monitoring and reporting, which was developed using DHIS2  software. DHIS2 is the software with open source code, which allows the governments and organizations to collect, manage and analyze data in the healthcare and in other spheres. DHIS2 software is used by the Ministries of Health all over the world, and also such organizations as MSI, PEPFAR, PSI and IPPF.

Wanda program is the web-system (DHIS2), allowing to monitor and document the cases of abuse and violation of the human rights. One can get acquainted with Wanda program using ordinary computer/notebook, and also with the help mobile application with Android operational system or the tablet. This program can be used both online and in autonomous mode.

Potential advantages of Wanda program in REActPro project

  1. 1.  Proofs provided in real time mode useful for making strategic decisions and planning. Ongoing questioning regarding human rights data is extremely important for development of the program in the sphere of human rights and advocacy plans. Wanda will provide proofs in real time mode for making timely and grounded decisions.
  2. Wanda will ensure central storage of all proofs regarding abuse and violation of the human rights (received in the process of routine monitoring), and also it will monitor the progress regarding monitoring and evaluation indicators for the human rights in the framework of Global Fund to fight AIDS.
  3. 3.  Wanda will allow to relatively quickly and easily aggregate and compare quantitative and qualitative data provided by partners. Though qualitative data can be never aggregated automatically, Wanda program can help to aggregate data and suggest different approaches to its analysis.

The objectives of REActPro Seminar

After the seminar the participants will have clear understanding regarding:

  • abuse and violation of human rights;
  • interviewing techniques – understanding of how to receive the history on human rights;
  • how to input data regarding cases of abuse and violation of the human rights into Wanda program;
  • how to review, analyze and create reports from the data on human rights in Wanda program.
