At the Committee on Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a Working Group on Monitoring the State of Implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy was established

On November 16, based on the suggestion of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and International Relations established a Working Group on Monitoring the State of Implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy.

Valerii Patskan, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, was elected Head of the Working Group.

The working group includes, in particular, the following persons: Bohdan Kryklyvenko, Head of the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, and representative of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union: Alla Blaha, an analyst, Andrii Halai, Project Coordinator, Oleh Martynenko, Head of the Analytical Department, Bohdan Moysa, Coordinator of the Analytical Department, Olena Semiorkina, an analyst, and Ksenia Semiorkina, Coordinator of the Public Platform for Monitoring the Implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy.

The main task of the Working Group will be to monitor the implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy and the Action Plan for its implementation by 2020; preparation of relevant information on the issue for the Committee, focusing the attention of the Committee on compliance with strategic directions of decisions and actions of the Government (central bodies of executive power); preparation of thematic hearings in the Committee and parliamentary hearings on implementation of the strategy, etc.
