Ukrainian experts joined an international team to develop police performance standards

Human rights activists got to work on developing universal standards of police performance. To that end, an expert platform involving 75 NGO experts from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine was established.

The standards being developed will come useful for the post-Soviet states, since they will include a set of requirements for selecting candidates, practical service standards for officers and employees of various law enforcement agencies, code of conduct for law enforcement officers, etc.

Oleh Martynenko, Expert of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, represents the Union in the expert platform.
